Who we are

Omni, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) of Ryan Koning, Dennenweg 34, 9674 JW Winschoten, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number 42088998, VAT number NL005486458B92. Omni is the controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@askomni.app.

The contact form

The form asks for three things, and all three are required: your name, your email address and your message. There is no phone field. We use your name and message to understand what you are asking for, and your email address to answer you — nothing else.

There is a fourth field in the form's markup, called “company”, which is hidden from view and from screen readers. It is a trap for automated submissions: if anything fills it in, the submission is dropped, nothing is sent and nothing is kept. A person never sees it and never fills it in.

Legal basis: we process what you send because you chose to send it and because answering an enquiry is in our legitimate interest as a business. You are not obliged to use the form — the same address is on the page, and an email reaches us just as well.

Where your message goes

A submission is checked and then turned into a single email, delivered to hello@askomni.app by Resend, the service we use to send mail. Resend processes the message on our behalf in order to deliver it. The email's Reply-To is set to the address you gave, so a reply goes straight back to you.

That is the whole journey. The website itself writes nothing down: there is no database behind it, no file it saves to, and no copy of your message anywhere on the server.

How long we keep it

Because nothing is stored by the site, the only copies that exist afterwards are the email in our mailbox and whatever our email provider holds in order to deliver and log it. We keep an enquiry for twelve months after the last message in the thread and delete it then — long enough to pick up a conversation that went quiet, short enough that a question from years ago is not still sitting in a mailbox. If you would rather we deleted yours sooner, say so and we will.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies at all. It stores nothing in your browser — no local storage, no session storage — and there is therefore no cookie banner to dismiss.

Analytics and tracking

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It is cookieless: it sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser, gives you no identifier and builds no profile of you. What it reports is aggregated — how often a page was viewed, which site visitors arrived from, roughly which country they were in, which browser they used and how quickly the page loaded — with nothing in it that singles you out and nothing that follows you to another site. Cloudflare acts as our processor for it.

There is no advertising here, no tracking pixel and no profiling, and nothing else is fetched from a third party while you read — fonts included. The analytics script is the one thing on the page that does not come from this domain: Cloudflare adds it at its edge, rather than it being part of the site's own code.

Hosting

The site runs on Cloudflare Workers. To deliver a page to you, Cloudflare necessarily handles the request, including your IP address, and keeps short-lived technical logs of requests to the site — which page was asked for, whether it worked. We use those to see that the site is up and to find errors, not to recognise you. Cloudflare acts as our processor for hosting.

Links to other sites

Several links lead away from here: to the Shopify App Store, the Chrome Web Store, and the demo sites on their own subdomains. Once you follow one, you are on someone else's site under their privacy policy, not ours.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict what we do with it, to object to it, and to receive it in a portable form. Ask at hello@askomni.app and we will answer within a month. In practice that is usually one email thread, and deleting it is a matter of deleting that thread.

If you think we are handling your data wrongly, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

Changes to this policy

If what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top changes too. We keep no archive of earlier versions here, so the date is how you tell whether you have read this one before.
